    Services for Edd Hazlewood of Hobbs will be held at 2 pm Saturday, Nov. 23, at Taylor Street Church of Christ with Eli Borden officiating.
    Burial will follow at Memory Gardens.
    Services are under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home.
    Mr. Hazlewood, 89, died Wednesday, Nov., 20, in Hobbs. He was born May 12, 1913, in Cisco, Texas. He married Irene on March 18, 1946, in Colorado City, Texas.
    Mr. Hazlewood was a longtime member of Taylor Street Church of Christ. He moved to Hobbs in 1946.
    Mr. Hazlewood served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He worked in the oilfield.
    Survivors include two sons, Jay Thomason of Hobbs and Jim Thomason of Houston, Texas; two daughters. Shirley Welty and Edna Buffington, both of Hobbs; one sister, Jessie Kennemur of Lawn, Texas; 11 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, five sisters; one brother; his parents; one son; and one grandson.

    Edgar married Emma Edna Irene Nichols 18 Mar 1946, Colorado City, Mitchell, Texas. Emma (daughter of Jay McCabe Nichols and Nancy Lynton Eaton) was born 23 Mar 1920, Shamrock, Creek, Oklahoma; died 27 Dec 2000, Hobbs, Lea, New Mexico; was buried 30 Dec 2000, Hobbs, Lea, New Mexico.
