Death certificate alleges she died aged 102 years, 8 months, 28 days. However, her parents would both have been under 15 years of age at her birth, were she born in 1831. Her youngest child would then have been born when she was aged 47. All census sources give her birth in the mid-1840s.

Two different birth dates are given in her application for Civil War widow's pension, 15 Jun 1836 and 15 Jun 1837. The later year best ties to other statements of age in her affidavits in the file.
