"The year one thousand seven hundred four-score-nine [1789], the tenth of November, having made the
three publications of banns over three consecutive Sundays in
this church without opposition, with the dispensation of Monsignor Le'Veque
of Metz for consanguinity of third or fourth degree dated the twentieth of
October and signed by le'Veque d'Oropp, and after they celebrated their engagement
the same day with me, with their mutual consent and that of the fathers
of the couple, Sebastian Untereiner, aged twenty-nine years, son of the late
Sebastian Untereiner, who in his life was a laborer in Veckersviller, and
Anne Marie Ecker; and Anne Marie Wallet, aged twenty-five years, daughter
of Martin Wallet, laborer, of Veckersviller, and of the late Christine
Teutsch. The parties were married in the presence of Martin Wallet, who
signed his consent, and of Jean Untereiner, mayor and laborer
of this place, brother of the groom, and of Philip Untereiner, another brother of the groom,
laborer of the same place, brother of the groom, of Philip Untereiner, another brother of the groom,
laborer of the same place, and of Jaque Pfeiffer, good friend of the groom,
another laborer of Veckersviller, and of Michel Gueringer, master mason of
Veckersviller, who all signed with me, the bride declared she
cannot write"
