"This day 23rd June 1714 has died Jacob Schmidt, Mayor of the village
of Veckersviller, after I had received his confession and he had the St. Viatique
and the sacrament of Extreme Unction, and his body was buried the
24th of the same month in the cemetery of the same place by the undersigned."
