"This date 7th Dec. 1710 was baptized by the undersigned Mathieu, born today, son legitimately of
Mathieu Pfeiffer and of Christienne Bürger, the father and mother are married and reside in Veckers-
viller; there also as godfather, George Metzer, young man of the same place, and for godmother
Anne Marie Jost, lady of the same place; all made oath not being able to write."
