Here at Eschburg [now Eschbourg] and Graufthal villages, District of Zabern [now Zaverne Arrondisment] on the 8 and 20th day of Germinal month, year 9
of the French Republic [17 April 1801]. Born was Ludwig Laubacher. Born
in Graufthal, the 7 and 20th day of Germinal [16 April 1801], in the 9th hour of the morning,
son of Joseph Laubacher, resident and day laborer in Graufthal, and Maria
Untereiner, who was married to him. The gender of the child was male.
One witness is Frantz Frid, 51 years old, resident and day laborer
in Graufthal. Another witness is Jacob Laug, 46 years old, resident and
??weaver in Graufthal. These men know the father Joseph Laubacher, and have
signed below attesting to the facts, with me Barthel? J S?, here
at Escburg and Graufthal, Zabern District, Unterrheinishen Departement [Lower
Rhine Department or County, now Bas-Rhin Department]. This is an official act of
the civil registrar's office, filed in the village hall in Graufthal on the
day, month and year stated above.

Court from the testimony of Watson Ayers a Citizen of the
United States that the said applicants have resided within
the limits and under the jurisdiction of the United States
for the five years last past one of which within the State of
Ohio, that during all that time they have behaved as men
of good moral character attached to the principles of the
Constitution of the United States and well disposed to the good
order and happiness of the same, the Court require and the said
applicants now doth in open Court on solemn oath declare
that they will support the Constitution of the United States and
now doth absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance
and fidelity to any foreign Prince potentate State or Sovereignty whatever
particularly Louis Phillip the King of the French." |
