RHYS won recognition of his crown from King Henry II in 1158 and built Dynevor Castle. He had a daughter Gwenillian, and sons Hywel, Griffith, Rhys, Cynwrig, and MEREDITH. RHYS is buried at St. David's Cathedral. The Morgan family connection to the Royal Family of Britain derives from Lord RHYS.
