"L'an mille sept cent soixante et dixsept le huit de Decembre vers
huit heur du soir est decedé á Weckersviller munie des sacraments
de penitence et d'eucharistie Marc Vallet de son vivant epoux
de la defuncte Marie Magdalaine Schmitt maneuvre et habitant du
dit lieu agé de soixante et dixsept ans le quel á été enterré le
landemain avec les ceremonies accoutremmés sur le cemetiér du dit
lieu par nous pretre curé du dit lieu soussigné en presence de
Michel Gueringer tourneur et habitant du dit lieu, et non parent,
et d'Antoine Klein chantre du dit lieu et non parent, qui ont signes
l'acte present avec nous:/:

"The year one thousand seven hundred three-score and seventeen [1777], the eighth of December about
the eighth hour of the evening has died in Veckersviller, fortified by the sacraments
of penitence and of Eucharist, Marc Vallet, who in his life was the spouse
of the late Maria Magdalena Schmit, a laborer and resident of
this place, aged three-score and seventeen [77] years. The body was interred the
next day with the accompanying ceremonies in the cemetery of this
place by me, head priest of this place, undersigned, in the presence of
Michel Gueringer, turner and resident of this place and non parent [?],
and of Antoine Klein, cantor of this place and non-parent, who signed
this document in my presence"
