"Today, 24th July 1708 was baptized by me the undersigned, George Jacques born
yesterday, son legitimately of Fridrich Schirmann and of Bastienne Kindich, the father and mother
married and residing in Veckersviller; with them as godfather George Plaignor, resident of
Sieviller and as godmother Marie Magdaleine Lehman, a young woman of the same place; who all
declared they cannot write"
