    JUNE 18, 1918 - FEB. 13, 2005

PORT ORANGE - Kay L. Gann, 86, of Wood Street, a union painter before his retirement in 1981, died Sunday at home.

Mr. Kay Gann was born in Bartlett, Neb., and moved here from Tennessee in 1945. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Port Orange and enjoyed fishing, gardening and red roses.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Carrie; three daughters, Janice Winzens, Port Orange, Paula Davis, Jacksonville, and Gerri Turnage, Orlando; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Lohman-Daytona, Daytona Beach, is in charge.

No apparent accounting for the discrepancies in the biography contained in the obituary with the documented evidence in all other sources.

Obituary notes Carrie was his "wife of 32 years", yet they were apparently married in Alabama in 1938. However, Kay L Gann appears in the Florida divorce index on 1 Sep 1971--perhaps he remarried Carrie in 1973

Kay married Carrie Mae Kennemur 28 Aug 1938, Hamilton, Marion, Alabama; divorced 1 Sep 1971, Volusia Co., Florida. Carrie was born 12 May 1919, Marion Co., Alabama. [Group Sheet]
