JUNE 18, 1918 - FEB. 13, 2005
PORT ORANGE - Kay L. Gann, 86, of Wood Street, a union painter before his retirement in 1981, died Sunday at home.
Mr. Kay Gann was born in Bartlett, Neb., and moved here from Tennessee in 1945. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Port Orange and enjoyed fishing, gardening and red roses.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Carrie; three daughters, Janice Winzens, Port Orange, Paula Davis, Jacksonville, and Gerri Turnage, Orlando; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Lohman-Daytona, Daytona Beach, is in charge. [5]
- No apparent accounting for the discrepancies in the biography contained in the obituary with the documented evidence in all other sources.
- Obituary notes Carrie was his "wife of 32 years", yet they were apparently married in Alabama in 1938. However, Kay L Gann appears in the Florida divorce index on 1 Sep 1971--perhaps he remarried Carrie in 1973
