Submitted a request to the FHL in Salt Lake City, asking for a review of Phalsbourg parish records (unavailable online at the time) in search of a baptism record for Sebastian Laubacher. Due to copy restrictions, a record image could not be sent. But they "did find a Sebastian Laubacher born about 1697 in Phalsbourg, France; Father: Joseph; Mother: Eva Rantrum." They noted that they were "not sure if this is correct."
Once the Phalsbourg parish registry books for 1680-1702 were digitized, the record was searched for and not found. | Laubacher, Sebastian (I3124)

Sunday morning a week ago, in Altoona, while engaged in a friendly tussle with one another, brakeman Alonzo Pressell had his arm broken, a piece of bone running through the flesh and causing the blood to gush out. Brakeman William McDowell, who was coming down the track on a lot of cars, seeing the blood, was overcome by sickness, and fell from his train under the wheels and had both legs crushed below the knees in a horrible manner, resulting in his death next evening. He was a married man and leaves one child. He was a son of Sam'l McDowell, of Bolivar. | McDowell, William (I2762)
